Spurs Lead the Betting Odds in Battle to be 'Best of the Rest'

As of April 17th, Spurs are just a point ahead of their arch-rivals Arsenal in the Premier League table, and Mauricio Pochettino's side are the current betting favourites to finish as highest-ranked London club in the top flight. With Manchester City and Liverpool away and gone, the teams in behind are currently scrapping away for the European positions, and Tottenham appear to be in the driving seat. Even with a depleted squad, many pundits are still predicting them to finish above the Gunners this campaign.

The Bookies Fancy Spurs to be Top Dogs in the Capital Once again, it's been a fascinating battle between the pair, and both sides appear to have largely winnable fixtures during the final few weeks of the campaign. The North London sides have a game in hand on Chelsea, who are the 10/3 outsiders to finish above the pair, and it looks to be a fascinating shootout between the trio. Spurs are priced at evens to be the top capital club this season, with Unai Emery's men next in the betting at 13/8. It is one of many top-flight markets available with Bet Victor, who are currently offering a 30 sports bonus for Premier League punters, and this is one of many current incentives outlined by UK Betting Offers. There are also odds available on the top goalscorer and relegation markets, with many bettors keen to snap up some late-season value.

Arsenal picked up a rare away win at Vicarage Road on April 15th, and this helped give them a fighting chance of finishing third this season, but the Europa League could still prove to be a distraction for the Gunners. Unai Emery's men are 13/4 second-favourites behind Chelsea to come out on top in Europe's second-tier club competition. Potentially, it could be an all-Premier League final this season, and it could potentially act as a distraction for both outfits during the final few weeks.

Spurs finished above Arsenal for the first time in 22 years last season, and fans were delighted to see their side finally get one over on their local rivals for the first time since 1995. The club finished seventh under Gerry Francis that season, four places above Chelsea, and five above the Gunners, but it looks set to be a lot closer this time around.

Pochettino's Men Likely to Start Odds-On in Each of Their Remaining Home Games

The fixture list has been relatively kind to Spurs, with a number of winnable looking games on the horizon. Their first two games at their newly-built stadium have seen the club pick up maximum points, and keep back-to-back clean sheets in the process.

Spurs will host Brighton on April 23rd, and will be fancied to sweep aside the struggling Seagulls. Chris Hughton's men 5/2 second favourites to slip back into the second tier this season, and are deemed unlikely to return to the AMEX with anything to show for their efforts. West Ham and Everton are two teams that are currently struggling for consistency, and neither are likely to cause Spurs too many issues.

Lucas Moura was superb against Huddersfield, and the former PSG star could have a big say in the coming weeks. With Harry Kane sidelined through injury, the club will be desperate to keep the 26-year old Brazilian fit and firing throughout the remainder of April. It looks set to be a pulsating and fascinating battle between the three capital clubs, but the bookies fancy Spurs to finish above their two London rivals this season. Mauricio Pochettino's men have enjoyed another fruitful campaign, and look firmly on course for a second consecutive third-place finish.
