30th September 2001 – Spurs 3-5 Man U & Leeds kick off time!

Spurs 3-5 Man U: A game of two halves and while its never nice to lose, this was just one of those games. The real crunch comes on Tuesday week, when we HAVE to beat Tranmere and again the Monday after when we HAVE to beat Derby.

One suspects the newly appointed Sport Psychiatrist will be a busy man convincing the players that they are good enough and that they are winners – as it was the lack of belief that was at the root of the problems.

Some people have been suggesting that Hoddle did do enough tactically, and while its true that he only used one sub in the 83rd minute, its difficult to see what he could have done. It was just one of those things and we need to put it behind us and make sure that it does not happen again.

This was only Hoddle's 15th league match and he needs time to create his Tottenham – its getting better, but as Saturday proved we are still a fair way and a few players from the top. A lost battle, but we are winning the war.

Just in case any Gooners decide they want to rub it in, remind them that they let in 6 the last time they played ManU, and then tell them to fuck off. And for any glory hunting Man U fans – tell them this is only the third time they have scored 5 against us, the other two times were in 1910 & 1965.

Spurs however have often hammered Man U

Leeds kick off time: What fucking idiot chose 12 noon for the kick off time for this match! There is one train from London which gets in at 11.25 – as long as the train is on time and you walk like the clappers – traffic is awful trying to get to Elland Road, you might just make it on time – why the fuck was this not played at 2.00 or 3.oopm. The only losers in modern football are the fans, and but no matter how badly we are treated we keep coming back for more and in greater numbers – bastards.

TOPSPURS match reports: Full match reports for the Southampton, Sunderland, Liverpool and Man United are now available.

Mascot Grand National: TOPSPURS would like to wish Chirpy, a 50/1 outsider, all the best in the Mascot Grand National to be held at Huntington racecourse on Sunday.

29th September 2001 – Rsol’s Minute of contempt

Saturday Morning: It’s a wet rainy morning in London, much the same conditions as when Spurs beat United 3-1 back in 1999 when Carr scored the winner. The key to the match will be how effective Spurs are at breaking down the vulnerable United defence and how good they are at stopping their awesome attack as well as even Andy Cole if he plays. COME ON YOU SPURS!

Minute of contempt. Please read the article on the message board, the article in the latest edition of MEHSTG out today or click on this link to see what the Rsol minute of contempt is all about

27th September 2001 – Daily Round up – Man U preview

Team News & thoughts on Man U. My snout has revealed as expected that we will go back to 3-5-2, with Richards coming in as the extra centre back, and Davies dropping to the bench to accommodate him. This is a little harsh on Davies who has done his bit for the team in the last few matches, but will allow Poyet more freedom to express himself up front after a couple of games where his natural play was restricted by the duties of his position. He also added that Rebrov and Gardner looked very sharp in training and having players as good as Rebrov, Gardner and Davies alongside Keller on the bench, things are not too bad – but just think how good it will be when the likes of Steve Carr, Gary Doherty, Goran Bunjevcevic, Steffen Iversen and Armo return to first team contention.

Our recent home record against Man U has been excellent (just as our record at Old Trafford has been dismal) with three 3-1 wins and a 2-2 draw in our last 4 matches, as well as a 4-1 win two matches before this (for a full look at all our fixtures against Man U go to www.topspurs.com/thfc-manchesterunited.htm)

The recent games against Chelsea, Sunderland and Liverpool have given everyone a lift in terms of our ability to compete against the best in the land, although it should be remembered that we did lose two of these matches as a result of bad refereeing allied to sleepy defending and inability to turn good play into goals. Whoever turns out for Man U will sure to be of top international quality (and the Neville Brothers) so we will be up against it again, although it is a bonus that madman Keane is banned.

With a bit of luck and the magic of Hoddle on the side we should manage to come away with something from the match, hopefully a win, but a draw would be a good measure of our progress.

Henry and the diving cheats! When I read the headline that Henry was slagging off the diving cheats, I naturally thought he was having a go at Paddy Viera who shamefully dived to get the goons an undeserved win against the whipping boys of the group last week. I was aghast when I read that he was having a go at the Greeks. Perhaps he needs reminding that the Goons failed to score and Panathanikos did, and that even if they did dive/cheat it did not have a direct effect upon the result, as it did the week before when peanut head did he theatricals.

Dishonour and disharmony at Scumbury – Rsol has put on 5 stone and now rivals Semen as the fattest git at Scumbury, Henry and Viera both want out, as will Pires when the bloke in the lower shelf throws the ball at him really hard again this season. Wingnut Jeffers cannot score, Upson looks to be about as useful as Stepanov’s and Ashley Cole is the new Kenny Sansom. Add Disarray to that, and I’ve not even mentioned a certain somebody taking his Packet of Sweets and his cheeky smile off elsewhere next season.

Treacle. Taricco’s nickname is Treacle and not this Tano nonsense the official website keep insisting on calling him.

26th September 2001 – Pep’s big move!

Guardiola. It is rumoured that Guardiola is off to Brescia! What an Arse if this is true – He turned down £60,000 wages at Spurs to join this two bob outfit just becos of the length of the contract offered to him was too long at two years at Spurs. Sad man!

Lets be a bubble for the night – c’mon Panathaniakos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good lads – no matter what happens at Spurs, there is always time to laugh at Arsenal

25th September 2001 – Dull day

Fatcha. It’s a dull day when all the news centres around the return of Bent Fatcha, a man so far down the pecking order a recall for Edinburgh would not be out of the question. Unless his surgery/therapy has suddenly injected some talent or he has returned to the sort of form that saw him line up with Stuart Nethercott in the England U21’s a few years back – his return to fitness can allow more funds to be generated to get the players we need.

Glad to see him back – I don’t like to see any Spurs player out injured and I would love to see him make me eat my words with decent performances - but I’m very sceptical that he can ever get near the first team of Glenn Hoddle's Tottenham.

When the GoonerSaurus finally gets another job, maybe he can waste another £5m of someone else’s money on him, although one suspects that the sort of club likely to give Graham a job offer is likely to be valued at £5m.

24th September 2001 – Daily Round up

The Rebrov/Ferdinand debate. This has been a major topic of conversation amongst the fans for the last week or so, so I thought I’d come in and give my penny’s worth.

Firstly I don’t think either of them is the striker to convert the good play into goals. This is not to say either of them are not good players in their own right, it is just that they are not the type of forward we need.

Ferdinand has been a great striker over his career, but the body cannot quite do what his mind requires anymore. Sir Les still shows flashes of the great striker he once was, like when he roasted Desailly in the last minute against Chelsea, but he does not do it enough and most importantly he is not a goal threat – 23 goals in 109 matches for Spurs is just not up to the standard required.

Rebrov has been a bit of an enigma since he signed, often looking lost in games but then doing a moment of magic – the shot against the bar against Ipswich, the Newcastle goal, as well the West Ham cup game. When discussing Rebrov with an Everton mate of mine, he said with Shevchenko’s continued prolific scoring in Serie A, maybe it was Shevchenko making Rebrov look good, rather than the other way round.

Within the system we play of one main striker and Ted doing his deep striker role, Ferdinand is the more comfortable player of the two (that is not to say that young Steve Ferguson could do any worse if given a chance) and I believe that Hoddle has got it right at the moment, but judging by his post match comments at Liverpool, I’m sure he’ll be out spending some more of ENIC’s money on a “Clive Allen” type striker

Rebrov on Rebrov “I am already tired of sitting on the bench. I want to play but it is the manager’s decision. ‘Of course I am not very happy about it. A lot of new players have come to the club but I want to play as well. ‘I have not spoken to the manager about it. If he needs to have a conversation with me about it then he must say so. ‘I know what he wants from me on the pitch but he thinks Teddy Sheringham and I can’t play together in the same team. “The problem is that we are too similar players and only one of us can play in the first eleven. "I don’t know how long I will give it right now but I will be even less happy to sit on the bench until Christmas. As for a move? Everything is possible in football.”

Hoddle on Rebrov "I am sure Sergei is going to contribute to this club in a big way. At this moment in time he hasn't started in the team but it is not because he isn't playing well, it has been for other reasons, such as tactical. But I would expect players who are not playing at the moment to be disappointed - as long as it doesn't go any further than that."

This looks like Rebrov wants out and judging by the last bit of Glennda’s statement; Hoddle will get rid of him when an appropriate offer comes in.

Mr Ed. Even Perry has been having a go in the press: “Obviously I was not best pleased when I didn’t play at the start of the season but we’ve been unfortunate with injuries and it’s been up to me to do well. I think I have done that. I made it clear I wasn’t happy being on the bench but then no player is. All I have tried to do is go out and give my best and to make sure I’m the first name on his team sheet.”

I think Perry has played well in the last couple of matches and it will be harsh on him if he is dropped but with the current injury crisis and Hod preferring 3-5-2, surely it will be Davies who drops out for Richards who will join Anfield heroes King and Perry in a three man defence on Saturday.

I should imagine Perry will eventually revert to the bench, but that will say more about Spurs strength in the central defensive department (King, Richards, Doherty, Gardner and Bunjevcevic) rather than anything against Mr Ed.

And there is absolutely no point selling him for around £2m – what can that buy you thesedays? Especially when you think what a good job he can do when called in. Perry is and should remain an important part of the squad.

The Stiffs won 2-1 with goals from Rebrov and Toner against Leicester tonight. Keller (Kelly 45), Toner, Etherington, Gardner, Thelwell, Thatcher, Sherwood (Jackson 45), Leonhardsen, Ferguson (Kamanan 75), Rebrov. Subs: O'Donoghue, Consorti

And last but not least – “Lets all laugh at Wupert”. Another game and another defeat for the second biggest club in Hampshire – Up yours – Going Down! Going Down! Going Down! Going Down! Going Down! Going Down! & Uuuurtcha

22nd September 2001 – Liverpool at Anfield and Virgin Trains

Liverpool 1-0 Spurs. Have just got back from Anfield (Sunday at 5pm) after a disaster of a journey back caused by Virgin Trains. Our train was cancelled and we were denied access to the last London train which was half empty by a line of Old Bill and station staff which meant we could get as far as Milton Keynes getting home. Absolute fucking wankers.

Of the match, Spurs played well but could not find a cutting edge against a good Liverpool side and were unlucky not to come away with a point in the end. Match report to follow

21st September 2001 – Richards Signs and Round Up

Dean Richards is a Spurs player. After a lot of ponsing about from Wupert Richards finally became a Spurs player today for £8.1m, our second biggest signing ever, and signed a four-year contract but did not sign in time for Liverpool tomorrow, but will make his debut against Man U next week.

Hoddle on Richards: “He’s improved as a player over the last two seasons very quickly and we’ve caught him now, at 27-years-old, just hitting his peak,” said Glenn. “And I think there is room for improvement again for Dean. “He’s come into a big club and a club where we’re hoping that the ambitions are going to be bigger and bigger. “I think he’s capable of adapting to that, capable of improving and showing people at Tottenham that he’s a very good centre-half. “I believe if he continues to show the improvement he’s had over the last two years, if he shows it again in the next couple of years he can be knocking on the door of the England squad. I really believe he has that ability. He’ll take some time to adjust but I think it’s there for him, it’s a challenge for him and that will bring him on as a player

TOPSPURS would like to wish Dean every success in his Spurs career.

21st September 2001 –Other News

A word for the Doc. While Ledley has been getting some rave reviews for his performances this season, I don’t think we have been giving enough attention to Gary Doherty who has been a revelation since the start of 2001. To make things worse, the Doc will be out for 4 months, in which time Dean Richards and Ant Gardner will have a chance to cement their place in the first team. The last week must have been a nightmare for him and I’d just like to say that despite not getting all the hype around at the mo and things having taken a turn for the worse, he is still held in the highest regard at topspurs and we look forward to a full recovery and a quick return.

And lets not forget when the Ledley King/Campbell up your arse song was started in the pub in Blackburn, there was the extra line “and the Doc” added to the last bit of “we’ve got Ledley at the back”

TOPSPURS away season ticket. After looking at the fixture list, I realised that barring unforeseen circumstances I should be able to make every match – so I decided to invest in an away season ticket which costs £460 (from Tranmere and Newcastle away onwards) – this also includes a £35 admin fee for one of the lovelies at the ticket office stuffing an envelope. God help them from my fury should they fuck up!

Chelsea. In terms of being a big club, Chelsea managed 20,000 for their UEFA match last night, while we managed the same attendance for Torquay. They might have been the more successful club over the last 7 or so years, but we remain a giant, albeit a sleepy one compared to them

Tony Parks. 1984 UEFA hero and Hackney lad Tony Parks will take over as assistant manager alongside relegation expert Neil Redfern as part of a Halifax management dream ticket next week. We wish him well.

Spurs sign Aussie Youngster (thanks to topspurs regular Jim Mariner for this story which has not appeared anywhere else). Tottenham have dipped into the Australian transfer market by swooping for teenager Gareth Jenkins from the Central Coast Coasties.  The 16 year-old won an apprentice deal at White Hart Lane following a successful trial. The youngster has never managed a senior game with the Coasties, restricted to only appearing for the club's U15 team last season. The Coasties are well known for their youth development which in recent times has seen goalkeeper Jess Vanstratten sign with Juventus and 'former Australian' Jamie McMaster join Leeds United – lets hope he turns about to be anther Harry Kewell

20th September 2001 – Round Up

Back from the North East Just back from the North East and our great win over Sunderland. If this is Hoddle's Tottenham give me more – match report to follow Sunderland 1-2 Spurs

Injury Disaster for Carr It has been revealed that Steve Carr will be out for 4 months with a knee operation. This is terrible news and can be traced back to Gooner George playing him this time last season when the problem was just starting, rather than getting it sorted early. Carr will have played only a couple of games in 2001 and Luke Young must be regretting leaving with such an opportunity. We wish Carr a speedy and most importantly a full recovery.

Richards to sign at last? At last it looks like Dean Richards is to sign for Spurs, hopefully before the 12.30 deadline so he is available for the Liverpool Match

17th  - 19th September 2001 – Round Up

Picketts Lock Had an excellent response to the Picketts Lock move, and rather than hear me witter on like an old woman about wanting to stay at an expanded White Hart Lane, I have put the views together in a special feature. www.topspurs.com/thefight4whl.htm

Topspurs on his travels again Just back from Iceland and I’m off again for a couple of days to visit our friends in the North, and of course take in the Sunderland match. I will be back late Thursday with tales of the trip and a match report by Friday Morning.

Dean Richards It again looks to be a matter of when and not if Dean Richards signs, but Southampton having us by the knackers with our lack of Centre halves at the moment. For the sake of £500,000 or all up front, it is well worth getting him before the Sunderland and Liverpool matches rather than after – but as he is cup tied – lets hope the Ant Man is back for the Tranmere match.

Sherwood’s Win Bonus Donation While this was undoubtedly a noble gesture, you have to wonder how much Sherwood will actually collect. One figure said, without any hint of sarcasm that it could be up to £100,000. Do they really pay the stiffs that much for winning matches, or has Barry Hearn got a special incentive scheme waiting for Deadwood when he gets offloaded to Orient.

And last but not least - Andy Porter While I dabble with knowing a bit about Spurs, the undoubted King of Spurs history is the Club Historian Andy Porter – who was good enough to go through my Sheringham goals and correct them couple I had wrong. A true star, and well worth reading his stuff in the programme. Many thanks from Topspurs.

Sheringham’s 100 Spurs goals  - www.topspurs.com/thfc-sheringhamgoals.htm

16th September 2001 – Richards offer increased

Richards for £7.5m As your ‘umble Webmaster told you all on the 4th September – Spurs have made a renewed offer of £7.5m for Richards and despite getting himself cup tied – he should sign this week, preferably before Weds at Sunderland with Doherty out for 3 months with a broken leg and Bunje out for at least a month with a fractured cheekbone. We wish speedy and complete recoveries to both, and a speedy conclusion to the Richards deal.

15th September 2001 – Buchler’s double talk on White Hart Lane

We do not want to trade 102 years of history for an extra 7000 seats at an Athletics track in Edmonton – SAY NO TO PICKETTS LOCK. Read the Buchler stuff further down & Mail me with your views no2pickettslock@topspurs.com

15th September 2001 – Spurs 2-3 Chelsea – fucking cheating referee

Steve Dunn – what a fucking twat This wanker has given the worst penalty I have ever seen and cost Spurs a chance of winning the match which the performance just about deserved.

Lucky or corrupt? Either the man is a fucking idiot, where upon he should not be refereeing or his bent, and used Hasselbaink stubbing his toe in the ground to give a penalty. Whatever he is a 100% cunt and should not be allowed to referee again.

We were told that referees were only useless because they were not professional – but they are worse:

  1. this prick did not send off eventual match winner Desailly when he took out Ferdinand in the second half – 1000 times worse than Poyet sticking his leg out to get sent off against Everton
  2. He did not even consult his linesman as to why Bunjevcevic was lying on the ground after a clash with the already booked Hasselbaink
  3. Gave a penalty when Hasselbaink stubbed his toe as he was about to shoot. If he was fouled, why did he not book or send off the Spurs player that did it? Because no Spurs players were near him

More Bad Injury News

1. Bunjevcevic - will be out for at least a month with a fractured Cheekbone

2. Doherty - that idiot challenge by the bumpkin pub player for Torquay has broken his leg and he will be out for three months. I hope Torquay get fucking relegated for this.

15th September 2001 – Team News for Chelsea

The Chelsea match As much as I would like to be confident that we can have them this time, I think looking at the comparative players available tomorrow, Spurs will do well to get a draw but our time will come, and soon. Spurs should have Sully, Bunje, Teddy and Shaggy back to add a bit of class that was lacking on Thursday, but the three outfield players are all struggling with injuries and would have to be at the top of their game to compete with the likes of Desailly, Petit, JFH etc.

The start of the dismal run against Chelsea was not too bad – we beat them in Aug 1987 and drew at the Bridge as they were relegated. They bounced back in style aided by Graham Roberts and did us 4-1 at the start of the 89/90 season, but we recorded what is our last win against them in March 1990 and finished that season third. Five defeats in 6 matches at the start of the 1990s was followed by 6 draws in 7 matches – the defeat came when Spurs leading 3-2 with 10 minutes to go missed a penalty through Andy Gray before going down to two late goals. Spurs should have won any number of these matches, but the record since the Matthew Harding game of 9 defeats in our last 10 matches is truly awful – managing 5 goals in those matches.

But lest we forget that overall, despite this nightmare period, Chelsea are only two wins ahead 46-44, and Spurs have still scored more goals 178-165 – so lets hope “long run normal service is resumed on Sunday with a win.

Spurs Squad: Sullivan, Taricco, King, Perry, Bunjevcevic, Ziege, Anderton, Thelwell, Freund, Sheringham, Rebrov, Ferdinand, Davies, Etherington, Keller

Spurs Probable: Sullivan – Perry, Bunjevcevic, King – Taricco, Ziege – Anderton, Freund, Davies – Sheringham, Ferdinand

COME ON YOU SPURS!

15th September 2001 – Tranmere away in the League Cup

Giant Killers? Getting drawn against a second division team must be regarded as a decent draw, but when that second division team is multiple giant killing Tranmere, who were League cup finalists in 2000 its not so clever.

Spurs have an excellent record against Tranmere – the only time we have not beaten them, we beaten them 9-1 and 4-0 in the replays.

Perry Song Spurs mascot for the 1993 Cup semi final, regular fanzine writer, fellow team member on the Spurs “Do I not know that” quiz and Park Lane legend Lee Dumont was telling me of a song that a group of them were trying to sing on Thursday night – but never really caught on – a variation of “Stick your Sol Campbell up your arse, We’ve got Ledley at the back” – with Vega in for Rsol and Perry in for Ledley to make it “You can stick you Ramon Vega up your arse, singing we’ve got Perry at the back”. A classic.

14h September 2001 – Buchler’s comments about various news stories

The Press have been having their usual dig at all things Tottenham, and this has prompted Vice Chairman Buchler to respond to them one by one. As usual I have a few things to say about these item – firstly as well as being put on the official website, this should also have been forced upon newspapers to report the club’s side – which does not seem to have happened.

BUCHLER: It has been said often that there is no such thing as bad publicity and yet I am a great believer in trying to ensure that there is fair balance in the reporting in relation to this club’s activities. I do not believe this has been the case in a few areas over the last week or so. It is, however, important for the club to ensure that the supporters have a clear understanding of what is correct and incorrect and in that respect I thought I would mention a few items.

1.      1.      1.       It is wholly incorrect that the stewards will be paid less during the course of this season then they were last season. The club paid an hourly rate of either £4.50 or £5.50 an hour and this year has increased the hourly rate by £1 to either £5.50 an hour or £6.50 an hour. At the same time it has withdrawn the ‘time-and-a-half’ payment for Sunday matches. This rate brings this club in line with any other club in the Premier division and the £6.50 an hour is the highest bracket of payment made to stewards out of all the London clubs. The number of Sunday matches this year is estimated at no more than four or maximum five, last year it was one. The club has usually at least 22 home matches, most of which will either be on a Saturday or midweek. The advantage to the stewards is that they will be paid at an increased rate for all of the matches and this will far outweigh any loss that they might suffer as a result of the ‘time- and-a-half’ being withdrawn on the very few Sunday games that take place. Calculations show that on average stewards should be between £100-£150 better off at least. The article written in the Evening Standard by Adrian Curtis was not checked with the club, neither were the facts.

This seems fair enough – but if any stewards disagree with this or would like to put their side of the story – please feel free to email me (confidentiality assured) stewards@topspurs.com

2.      2.      2.      The same journalist and ‘paper have produced stories regarding the players’ bonuses making out that the club is being miserly over its treatment of players and the bonus system. It is true that there have been discussions between the club and the players’ representatives and these discussions will continue. And indeed the club captain has already made comment about this on this website. However this is in the normal course of trying to agree a new bonus system for next year and the system which is in place ranks among the top three or four bonus payments of any club in the country.

This statement glosses over the unhappiness the players obviously felt about the system – and the conditions imposed did seem to be counter productive (and I assume they are true as they have not been denied by this statement). Sheringham’s comments on the website was that talks were going on and that it is good that there is dialogue between player representatives and the owners. Nowhere in the statement did he say that he was happy with the new bonus system being introduced a couple of days before the start of the season or the conditions within it. We’ll give ENIC the benefit of the doubt on this one, this time, but any similar repeat will not be acceptable.

3.      3.      3.      It has been reported that the whole catering system in the club is in disarray. I can confirm that at last Sunday’s game against Southampton our new caters Crown Catering experienced certain difficulties, particularly in a few Boxes and in the Centenary Club. The club has taken these difficulties very seriously indeed and, as a result, offered a free meal to all Centenary Club members and some of our hardest hit Boxholders. The feedback from the changes that were made for the match yesterday against Torquay was outstanding and I am sure that this huge effort to put right what was clearly wrong last Sunday will continue this Sunday and in future matches to come. If there are any problems this club will not hesitate to ensure that we treat our fans and supporters properly and resolve any issues.

No interested! Normal supporters have been getting shite service and crap food for years – try queuing up for a pint in the bar in the middle of the lower shelf at half time! But then again – we are season ticket holders – the easy victims.

4.      4.      4.      It has been intimated that this club is not treating its former players correctly and has withdrawn all their facilities. This is wholly incorrect. For a number of years the club has run a Legends Lounge where corporate patrons were able to dine with a past Spurs player. Unfortunately, over the last few years, only four or five players have participated and have been prepared to be part of this. Indeed last year we offered the players the ability to bring a guest in the hope that each of the players might bring another player to increase the numbers in the Legends Lounge. This did not succeed and Legends this year has been turned into the Golden Cockerel Club and become a different corporate hospitality suite. For this year we have written to all our previous players, particularly those that have shown a willingness to occasionally come to the club, and invited them to the games offering them a free match ticket, a lounge pass and a seat in the Golden Cockerel Club. This does not entitle them to a full lunch before the game; it does entitle them to tea, coffee, biscuits and a full buffet at half-time and after the game. We hope that as many players as possible will take up this offer and they will be most welcome at the club. Bearing in mind that we have thousands of ex-players the only request that we have made to our players is that they notify us of their requirements for the whole season for tickets so that we can plan seating and availability on a match by match basis.

This all seems fair enough – but on the subject of ex-players – I think it would be a good idea to try and get Jimmy Greaves back to Spurs. Greavsie did such lot for the club and it is obvious that there is still a lot of resentment of Greavsie’s part.

5.      5.      5.      Reports still seem to fester that the club has decided to move premises and change the name of its stadium. I think I have made it clear that your Board has to consider every option in ensuring the club’s future and security and this we will do. It is without question our preferred option to remain at White Hart Lane.  However, in order to do so the ground over the next five or 10 years has to have a larger capacity with transport facilities and other facilities to match. A number of other clubs, including our closest neighbours Arsenal, are building all-purpose brand new stadiums with all the facilities to match and we must not be left behind in trying to ensure that we can compete properly in the new era of football, particularly European football, that we hope to enjoy in the years to come. There is a huge amount of co-operation therefore that is required from lots of different sources to ensure that White Hart Lane over the next five or 10 years can b
