ENIC are doing the right thing in lining up a media deal, but just how much will they get? and will it reflect a cut price deal cos of our lack of recent success?

ENIC have got 26.9% of Tottenham for £22m ish - give or take a few bob. This means that 9.9% is strictly worth just over £8m (with the actual share value being considerable less). In the case of Villa, the Media company paid about 4 times what the shares was worth - which in our case will be around £32m ish.

We cannot afford to waste this!!!!!! This is our last chance for the big time. Can you trust Graham to buy the sort of players we need?

Graham is very fond of going on about his own record, so lets look at it the last time we were in a situation like this (the European qualification of the summer 1999). Who did Graham buy to take us on that extra step from mid table to top 6 and regular Europe - Perry, Leo and Korsten!!!! I will put some of this down to Sugar being a tight/cautious git, but it hardly smacks of great ambition.

We need a top quality central midfielder, a good left-sided midfielder and a striker - all of proven international and top level club quality (this should also keep the Sol man, who can have Anderton's wages). We don't want 6 two bob players

Do you trust Graham to identify these players?

Do you trust Graham to be able to deal with these players?

Do you trust Graham to be able to form modern progressive tactics to get the best out of these players?

Lets hope its Veron, Roberto Carlos and Battistuta rather than Dozzell, Thatcher and Korsten - Be very scared at the types of players listed in Graham's mind at the moment (although I will give him the benefit of the doubt as these are probably crap rumours)
