Duggan on Football Focus

Incensed by Sugar's comments blaming the supporters for the lack of success at Tottenham during Sugar's reign, I posted the following on the Views part of the website and knowing that it had come from a Football Focus interview, I decided to mail them with my thoughts.

I ranted at the TV while Sugarlump stuck the knife in and blamed everyone apart from himself for the recent fortunes of the club, but fell dumstruck when Ray Stubbs said "Spurs fans have been mailing us with their thoughts on the Sugar interview and here's Jim Duggan's comments"

"He never listened to Spurs supporters - he did his own thing with very modest success - to blame us for it with no decision making responsibility is rubbish."

Jim went on

"We have been forced to live in the past because the club was under poor management and guidance"

Stubbs finished by saying words to the effect "and Jim had plenty more to say about Sugar's period in control which lacked any festive spirit"

The phone did n't stop ringing for ages - a great moment, and not even a crap ref and a 0-0 against Boro could spoil the day.

What a twat - Just how long could the Black Knight of Chigwell keep his dignity in the press? Today he spills his rancid guts to Football Focus, who will no doubt give him a sympathetic hearing. The story is repeated below

In an interview that will be broadcast on BBC1’s Football Focus at 12.20pm today, Sugar said: “Basically I have had enough of being the whipping boy of the fans. Enough is enough. “They told me they were not coming to home games any more because of certain things that were being said. It seems to be a thankless task. “Tottenham is a club where its fans live on past heritage and its past glory.
